For this month, Rawlings came out with perhaps the nicest Gold Glove Models yet. Sure, there have been some great ones, but these Rawlings GGC April 2017 are tough duo to beat:
Quite nice, eh? Let’s take a closer look at the Rawlings Heart of the Hide PRO12-6TI and the Rawlings Pro Preferred PROS205-2BGS and explain why they’re awesome:
Rawlings Heart of the Hide PRO12-6TI
Summary: Ah, the Nolan Arenado model. The Rawlings Heart of the Hide PRO12-6TI is the exact replica of Nolan Arenado’s glove that has been trending for some time now. Its appeal stems from its awesome timberglase look (it’s absolutely gorgeous), 12″ pattern with an H-web and deep pocket, and a tank-like feel. It’s built for the hot corner.
Recommendation: If you’re a third basemen, get the Rawlings Heart of the Hide PRO12-6TI. It’s built specifically for the best fielding third basemen in the game, has an awesome look, and features the awesome Steerhide Heart of the Hide leather. I guarantee you won’t regret buying this glove.
Rawlings Pro Preferred PROS205-2BSG
Yep, the Rawlings Pro Preferred PROS205-2BSG was a warmup glove for Francisco Lindor in 2016. Since we detailed it in our Francisco Lindor’s Gloves article, we were awed by the looks. It’s even crazier that this glove comes with gray on the back, even though you can’t even customize a Pro Preferred with gray. Those logos are on point, too.
Summary: In addition to its stunning looks, the Rawlings Pro Preferred PROS205-2BSG comes in the size Lindor uses, 11.75″. Complete with an I-web, this model has a medium depth pocket and a natural thumb-to-pinky close. This makes it fit for the spot Lindor occupies nightly, shortstop.
Recommendation: Shortstops who like a bigger glove with a deeper pocket and are on board with this design will find the Rawlings Pro Preferred PROS205-2BSG to be a sweet glove. It’s also super durable and lightweight as well, thanks to Rawlings’ smooth Kip leather construction.
Kind of a tough question, but which Rawlings GGC April 2017 are you a bigger fan of?
