Carpenter Trade is the only glove manufacturer to make their gloves from synthetic materials. The microfiber that is used is claimed (by Carpenter) to be 40% lighter than leather yet twice as strong. The glove is laced with cord lace which is comparable to shoe lace in feel but is stronger than leather lace.

Carpenter gloves are made by one man, Scott Carpenter, in a shop in Cooperstown, New York. Scott Carpenter makes each glove by hand, and claims each glove takes 20 hours to fully craft.
